About Rora Kanda
Rora Kanda is a stunning high-altitude meadow (bugyal) located in the Rora Valley of Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the lesser-known gems of Kinnaur, situated in the same valley as the world-famous Yulla Kanda Krishna Temple. The meadow offers sweeping panoramic views of the Kinner Kailash range and surrounding Kinnaur peaks.
Far from the crowds of more popular Himachal destinations, Rora Kanda is a favourite among those who seek solitude, natural beauty, and high-altitude camping experiences. On clear nights, the absence of light pollution makes it one of the finest stargazing spots in the region.
Rora Kanda & Yulla Kanda - Combined Trek
Rora Kanda is often visited as an extension of the Yulla Kanda trek, making it an ideal addition to a 2–3 day itinerary in the Rora Valley. Both destinations share the same base village of Yulla Khas in Kinnaur.

How to Reach Rora Kanda
Rora Kanda is accessed from Yulla Khas village in Nichar Tehsil, Kinnaur. To reach Yulla Khas:
- From Shimla: Drive ~200 km via NH-5 through Narkanda → Rampur → Tapri → Yulla Khas (7–8 hrs)
- From Delhi: Drive ~600 km via Chandigarh → Shimla → Narkanda → Rampur → Tapri → Yulla Khas (12–14 hrs)
- By Bus: Take HRTC bus from Delhi/Chandigarh to Shimla, then local buses toward Rampur. Alight at Tapri and take a taxi to Yulla Khas village.
